At Ecole Nationale des Ponts et Chaussées, a member of Paris Institute of Technology, I am the Director of the Part-Time Executive Master “Sustainable Real Estate and Building”, Energy and Digital Transitions (formerly “Real Estate, Building and Energy”).
It is one of the first executive masters in Europe mixing real estate financial and legal culture and building technical culture.
It is the first master dedicated to sustainable real estate to be accredited in Europe by RICS.
Invited by the private academy of a Swedish construction company, I interacted with Polish investors and construction entrepreneurs on the risks presented by non-green buildings.
Awareness on environmental issues in real estate is not the same as in Western Europe.

On 2012 June 7, in Brussels, before the launching on international level of the French environmental certification HQE™, a conference dedicated to “Green Value and Certification” was held with the participation of three speakers.
I presented the first evidences of green value and the issue of keeping green value over time,Franck Hovorka (Caisse des Dépôts) gave the point of view of the investor, and Ursula Hartenberger (RICS Europe) presented the role of the expert.

BNP PARIBAS REAL ESTATE Investment Services has invited in Paris, on 2011 May 19, investors from Japan, South Corea, Canada and Germany.
I was invited to present my opinion about Sustainable Real Estate, Environmental Performance and Green Value.
I have been invited to participate, on 2010 October 20 in Boston (Massachusetts), in the Workshop entitled “International Perspectives on the Role of Building Regulation in Responding to the Challenges of Climate Change”, organized by the Inter-Jurisdictional Collaboration Committee (IRCC), an international organization dedicated to regulation. I made a presentation dealing with 2010 European Energy Performance of Buildings Directive (EPBD) and its implementation in France;
France was late in implementating the previous 2002 European Directive. Thanks to the “Grenelle de l’Environnement” mobilization, France is now one of the most advanced countries in Europe on that topic.
Presented in the framework of a European contract conference gathering North European countries, the text dealed with Energy Efficient Buildings Policies.

From 2009 to 2012, I was the coordinator, mandated by the CSTB, of the CIB Task Group No. 66 “Energy and the Built Environment”. Download the final report “The Implementation of Energy Efficiency Buildings Policies: An International Comparison,” published in September 2013. This report is a synthesis of five events.
A kick off international seminar (see presentations and listen to registered conferences) was held in Brussels on 2009 October 14. It was dedicated to the European policy (four presentations), the action of international organizations (UNEP-SBCI, IEA, WBCSD) and the policies of four countries: Brazil, China, South Africa, USA.
A first Internet session (download presentations and listen to registered conferences) was dedicated to Europe in February 2010. 6 presenters made presentations dealing with the experience of 5 countries (Belgium, France, Germany, the Netherlands and Poland).
A second Internet session concerned North America in October 2010. Organized by Barbara Lippiatt (NIST, Washington DC), in partnership with Darren B. Meyers (ICC, Chicago), the session mobilized 5 speakers from Canada, Mexico and the USA.
A third Internet session dedicated to South America was organized by Roberto Lamberts (Federal University of Santa Catarina, Brazil) in November 2010. 5 speakers made presentations from Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Uruguay and Venezuela.
A fourth Internet session was dedicated to to India in June 2012 with two presentations.
In a different approach, a meeting was held in Manchester in May 2010, during CIB World Congress, where 19 technical and socio-economic research papers dealing with Energy and the Built Environment were presented (see research papers)
The « Green Value In Use » group is an informal Task Group gathering:

The Task Group aim is to promote the notion of Green Value of Real Estate.
The Task Group highlights :
– The link between Energy, Environment and Health Indicators and Property Green Value,
– Three dimensions of Green Value: the Environmental Quality of the building, an Energy Performance Contract between the owner or tenant and the facilities manager, a Green Lease between the owner and the user.
The Task Group made a first presentation of its work, « Turning the generic concept of Green Value into action », during the Annual Conference of Sustainable Building Alliance (SB Alliance) on the 5th of November 2009 in Paris.
The Task Group presented a paper entitled Assessing Green Value: A Key to Investment in Sustainable Buildings at European Council for an Energy Efficient Economy Summer Study, at Giens (French Riviera) in June 2011.

This paper was presented in Dubaï in November 2008 at the International Building Council (CIB) Working Commissions 55 (Building Economics) and 65 (Organisation and Management of Construction) Joint Symposium.
The paper presented three energy efficient buildings models: the Low Consumption Model (LCM), the Energy and Environment Model (EEM) and the Energy Saving and Production Model (ESPM).
A study of each real estate market segment is necessary to analyse the drivers and the barriers characterizing the models market dissemination.
